Membership Techniques for Building Your Local's Strength
(Registration Fee: $50.00)
The Membership sessions will provide you with plenty of fun and laughs even while we load you up with tons of new tools and insights for engaging current members and recruiting new members.
The skill sessions will include hands-on experiences and modeling of effective recruitment techiniques. You’ll learn: how to improve and apply listening skills, what to look out for when speaking with a potential member, how to capitalize on organizing opportunities, and more.
To encourage interaction and movement, we’ll also have a fun “Making the Rounds” activity from which you’ll learn about:
• Key approaches to Educational Support Professionals
• The best member benefits for use in recruitment and retention
• Services NEA offers
• Completing a membership form
• Key dates for membership
• Who to call for help
• How to Maximize Members use of our new pocket calendar and member handbook
• How to develop a membership plan for your building or local.
• How to relate the “core values” that brought you into the NEA to potential members as a way to support their own “core values.”
Local associations are invited to display flyers and local plans they’d like to share. Participants can look the materials over and take home copies if they wish. Best of all we are planning a fun celebration of our achievements.
