FLOODING IMPACTS NEA MEMBERS IN IOWA

It has been a very difficult time for Iowans. A deadly tornado devastated the Parkersburg area and destroyed the Aplington-Parkersburg High School. Thousands of Iowans have either lost their homes or suffered severe losses due to flooding.  Many NEA members have been impacted by these events.

The Iowa State Education Association has contributed $5,000 to a fund to help Association members replace lost or damaged teaching materials and supplies.  Funds will be distributed later this summer to local associations in the affected areas which will decide how best to disburse them to members. If you or your local would like to contribute, make checks payable to the ISEA and write "Disaster Relief Effort" in the check’s memo line and send to: ISEA, c/o Disaster Relief Effort, 777 Third St., Des Moines, IA 50309.
