We’ve won the battle for Education Jobs and Medicaid funding and because of ALL our efforts we have staved off the looming additional cuts to our schools that were about to greet us in September.

NOW, NEA-New Mexico is calling on YOU to again make the difference starting on Tuesday, September 7, 2010.

We need your help to:

• Elect a Pro Education Governor
• Elect Pro-Education Legislators
• Return our 3 Congressmen who support public schools
• Protect public school funding in the Legislature
• Shape the new ESEA in the right way

I Believe bumper sticker

We begin the campaign September 7, 2010 with a simple act of advocacy. Contact your local leaders to get your bumper sticker. Put it on that day.

Get your colleagues to take 5 minutes so all of you can go to your parking lot and stick them on at the same time.

Continue the ACTION Throughout the rest of the fall:

• write letters to the editor (link coming soon)
• send “Thank You’s” to our 2 Senators and 3 Congressmen for their support
• connect to NEA’s “Speak up for Education"
• volunteer to help elect our recommended candidates
• talk to parents about supporting our school funding
• urge your school board to issue a proclamation on how to
change ESEA
• visit NEA Education Votes for the latest updates

Again, it will be up to us to make it happen; and just like the Jobs bill, WE WILL!
